Iannone: “It’s a positive track for me”
Andrea Iannone looking to bounce back from his worst result of the season at the San Marino GP.
Iannone’s eighth place finish at Silverstone was the first time that the Italian had finished outside of the top six all season. He currently occupies fourth in the championship standings with a 30-point advantage over his teammate Andrea Dovizioso in fifth.
Last year Iannone crossed the line in fifth at Misano after qualifying on the front row on the Pramac Racing Ducati, and he also has back to back podiums to his name at the Adriatic circuit in Moto2™ (2011 & 2012).
Iannone will be hoping to bounce back to form and recently conducted a private test at Misano with the team which should stand him in good stead.
Andrea Iannone: “I am very happy to come back and race in Italy. Misano is one of our home circuits, just like Mugello, and in general it’s a positive track for me, so we think we can be fast and competitive throughout the weekend and we’ll try and bring home a good result. Of course racing in front of my fans and all the diehard Ducatisti will be extra motivation to do well and so I can’t wait to get out on track.”
