Viñales: “My confidence with the machine has increased”

MotoGP™ rookie Maverick Viñales fired up for the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini after a week off.
Maverick Viñales undertook his first wet race in the MotoGP™ World Championship last time out at the British GP, continuing to gain valuable experience in the premier class. Despite a solid result, Viñales is hoping for a dry weekend and race in Misano for round 13 of the 2015 MotoGP™ season. The rookie heads to Misano having completed a test there several months ago, no doubt this will provided Team Suzuki Ecstar and Viñales with an added boost and see them close in on the front riders.

Another point scoring result is Viñales’ aim in Misano, only once in 2015 has he failed to score points. Having found a base setting at the test should provide Viñales with a solid foundation on which to work from and hopefully avoid being knocked out in Q1 as in Silverstone.

Maverick Viñales: “Honestly I can't wait to get back on my GSX-RR and especially in Misano. In the last events my confidence with the machine has increased race-after-race and now I would like to be always riding and therefore improving. Furthermore, we could test in Misano a couple of months ago and I had very positive feelings there. Now we can start from a basic set-up that we have developed and start improving from there. I have the feeling that my crew and I are making solid progress; this gives me the chance of being relaxed while working and I believe this will pay back in terms of performance. The circuit, with the new Tarmac, seems to have good pace in it and therefore I am excited to go racing this weekend.”
